Wood and Laminate Underlay Recommendation Guide
Showing the single result
Each Floorwise underlay has unique performance characteristics which can make selecting the right underlay a difficult choice. We have therefore included a recommendation table for you to be able to easily compare the underlays.
Please note that there are two types of sound transmission to consider – airborne and impact sound.
Generally the higher the density of the underlay the better it is at reducing airborne sound whilst the softer the underlay the better it is at reducing impact sound. For this reason higher density Rubber underlays will generally perform better at reducing airborne sound whilst lower density PE Foam underlays will generally perform better at reducing impact sound.
Included in the table are thicknesses, tog ratings, impact sound ratings and our unique sound performance classification system which provide a balance of airborne and impact sound reduction:
USR+ Ultimate Sound Reduction Plus
PSR+ Premium Sound Reduction Plus
ESR+ Enhanced Sound Reduction Plus
GSR+ Good Sound Reduction Plus
BSR+ Basic Sound Reduction Plus
